A healthy diet means eating a variety of foods that provide the nutrients a person needs, without exceeding the recommended daily calorie intake, in proportion to their physical activity. A healthy diet does not have to be too complicated, but it should contain all the nutrients the body needs - proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals. All this can be obtained by eating foods from all 5 food groups - fruits, vegetables, cereals, protein-rich foods and dairy products.
